The section for Elementary and Astroparticle Physics of the Swedish Physical Society is a non-profit interest organization for professional Swedish particle physicists, although everyone interested is welcome as member. The Section has about 150 members, most of them active researchers in the fields of elementary particle physics, astroparticle physics or cosmology, both theorists and experimentalists.
Every year the section organizes the Particle Days, a meeting of all the particle and astroparticle physics groups in Sweden, where the status of current and future research projects are presented and discussed.
The Section is also responsible for electing the Swedish representatives to international organizations like the European Committee for Future Accelerators (ECFA), the Advisory Committe for CERN Users (ACCU) or the International Particle Physics Outreach Group (IPPOG), as well as managing the participation of Swedish delegates in scientific conferences where a country quota is enforced.
